A neighborhood tax office with the prices on the wall, preparers who speak English and Spanish, and a jar of marigolds on the desk. Walk in with your papers, or book a time that suits you.

We explain any line you’re unsure of, file it electronically, and hand you a copy for your records.

Refund status · Estado de su reembolso
Once it’s filed, your return moves through a few stages. The IRS and the state set the pace, not us, and nobody can promise you a date or an amount. What we can do is tell you where it is and what to do next.
The IRS (and the state) has your e-filed return, and it passed their first checks: names, numbers and dates of birth match their records.
Nothing yet. Keep your copy and the receipt we gave you somewhere safe.
We see the acceptance notice in our system. If a return is rejected, it’s almost always a typo in a name or number: we fix it and send it again at no charge.
They’ve processed your return and approved the refund amount. If they adjusted something, it may differ from what we filed, and a letter will explain why.
Check the IRS’s own refund tracker with your Social Security number or ITIN, your filing status and the refund amount on your return.
If the amount changed, bring in the letter. We’ll read it with you and explain every line, in English or Spanish.
The money is on its way: by direct deposit to the account on your return, or as a paper check by mail.
Keep an eye on your account or mailbox. If you moved after filing, update your address with the IRS.
We can double-check the account numbers we filed and tell you what to do if a check doesn’t arrive.
It’s arrived. Your bank decides how soon you can use deposited money.
Keep your return and this year’s papers together. Next year starts with them.
Bring the folder back next year, and we’ll pick up where we left off.
All year · Todo el año
Letters, corrections and paperwork turn up any month of the year. We’re here Monday to Saturday, all year round.
Bring the envelope. We read it with you, explain what it’s asking in plain words, and help you reply on time.

Our starting prices are on this page and on the office wall. After a look at your papers we tell you the full price, and we don’t start until you agree to it. You pay when you sign, not before.
You can drop your papers off in a sealed envelope at the front desk, or upload them through a secure link we text you. We call with any questions and the price, and you sign electronically.
Yes. We explain why you owe, when it’s due and what your options are, such as a payment plan with the IRS or the state. We can’t promise the amount will go down, but we can make sure you understand every number.
Most personal returns take about an hour if you bring everything on the list. Business returns usually take longer, and sometimes we’ll ask you to come back with a missing paper.
Yes. Every personal return includes one state return. If you lived or worked in another state during the year, each extra state is from $45.
No. If you can’t get a Social Security number, you can file with an ITIN. If you don’t have one yet, we help you apply with Form W-7.
We can file an extension for you. One thing to know: an extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. If you think you’ll owe, we help you work out a payment to send with it.
You take your originals home the same day. We keep a copy of your return in a locked file so we can help next year or if a letter arrives, and we never share your information to sell you anything.
