Physical therapy · Alder Grove
Physical therapy that starts with listening.
One-to-one visits with the same therapist each time, at two clinics in Alder Grove. We explain what we're doing and why, and you leave every visit with a plan you can follow at home.
- 50 minone-to-one, every visit
- 2 daystypical wait for a first visit
- 6 daysa week, early and late
- The same therapist from first visit to last
- Early, evening and Saturday appointments
- Coverage checked for you before your first visit
- No referral needed to book with most plans
What we help with
Care for the parts of you that are getting in the way.
Choose an area to see how we usually work with it. Everything starts with a conversation and an assessment, so your plan is yours, not a handout.
Back & neck
For backs that complain after a long day at the desk, a weekend in the garden or a night on the wrong pillow, and necks that won't turn far enough to check a blind spot. We look at how you sit, lift, sleep and move, then build a plan around the things you do every day.
A plan might include
- Hands-on care for stiff joints and tight muscles
- Short daily exercises, filmed on your phone if you'd like
- A look at your desk, car seat or lifting habits
- Strength work you can carry on at a gym or at home
Shoulder & arm
For shoulders that ache reaching for the top shelf, elbows that grumble after tennis or a mouse, and wrists that tire on a keyboard. We test how the whole arm moves, from your neck to your fingertips, and work on the links that are holding the rest back.
A plan might include
- Range-of-motion work, gently and at your pace
- Band and light-weight strength programs
- Hands-on care for the shoulder blade and upper back
- Workstation and sport technique advice
Hip & knee
For knees that dread the stairs, hips that stiffen on long drives and joints that need a careful plan to get back to walking the dog, hiking or kneeling in the garden. We measure strength and movement side by side, so you can see the changes for yourself.
A plan might include
- Progressive strength work for hips, thighs and calves
- Walking, stair and squat practice in the clinic
- Hands-on care and taping when it helps you move
- A written plan for the weeks between visits
Foot & ankle
For rolled ankles that never felt quite right again, heels that ache on the first steps of the morning, and feet that tire on a shift on hard floors. We look at your footwear, your stride and your balance as well as the sore spot.
A plan might include
- Balance and calf strength progressions
- A walking or running gait review on the treadmill
- Footwear advice, in plain terms
- Hands-on care and taping
Sports & running
For runners building toward a race, weekend players getting back on the court and lifters who want to train around a niggle rather than stop. We speak your sport's language and plan around your season, not just the next appointment.
A plan might include
- A video gait or movement review
- A return-to-sport plan with clear checkpoints
- Strength and plyometric programming
- Training-load advice you can share with your coach
Before & after surgery
For anyone preparing for a joint replacement or a repair, or home from the hospital with a set of instructions and a lot of questions. We follow your surgeon's guidelines, keep them updated if you'd like us to, and set out each stage so you know what's next.
A plan might include
- Getting-ready strength sessions before your date
- Stage-by-stage exercise plans after it
- Walking, stairs and getting-in-the-car practice
- Visit notes sent to your surgeon, with your permission
Balance & steadiness
For anyone who feels less sure on their feet than they used to, on uneven sidewalks, on stairs or getting up from a low chair. Visits are calm and practical, and family members are welcome to come along and learn the exercises too.
A plan might include
- Balance practice with support close by
- Leg strength for stairs, curbs and chairs
- Simple home-safety suggestions
- A printed program in large type
Not sure where yours fits? Request a visit and we'll talk it through when we call. Physical therapy works alongside your doctor's care; it doesn't replace it.
Your first visit
What happens, step by step.
A first visit is an hour long and mostly a conversation. Nothing happens without an explanation, and you can stop or ask a question at any point.
-
Before you come
We call you back within one business day
Our care coordinator, Rosa, confirms a time, checks your coverage and answers your questions. You'll get a reminder by text the day before.
-
On the day · 10 minutes early
Check in and settle
Wear clothes you can move in: shorts for knees and hips, a T-shirt for shoulders. There's water, a quiet waiting area and parking by the door.
-
First 20 minutes
A conversation, in a private room
Your therapist asks what's getting in the way, what you'd like to get back to, and what you've tried. This part happens in person, never on a form.
-
Next 25 minutes
Movement and strength checks
Gentle tests of how you move, measured so we can compare later. If hands-on care makes sense, we'll explain it first and start today.
-
Last 15 minutes
A plan you agree on
Two or three exercises to start, how often we'd suggest coming, and what to expect. You leave with it written down, and in your inbox.
How we work
Seven services, one clear plan.
Your therapist chooses from these with you. Every one is explained before we begin, and you can say no to anything.
-
One-to-one physical therapy
Fifty minutes with your therapist, start to finish, in a private room or the gym. No sharing, no handing off to an aide.
-
Hands-on care
Joint mobilization, soft-tissue work and stretching, always explained first and adjusted to what's comfortable for you.
-
Exercise programs
Short, specific routines that fit your day, with videos you can replay at home and progressions as you get stronger.
-
Running & movement analysis
Slow-motion video on our treadmill or in the gym, reviewed together, with two or three changes to try first.
-
Workplace & desk setups
A visit to your workstation, in person or by video, with practical changes to your chair, screen and routine.
-
Small-group strength classes
Four people at most, led by a therapist, for when you're ready to keep going without weekly visits. $25 a class.
-
Video check-ins
A 25-minute follow-up from home when the drive doesn't make sense: we review your exercises, adjust the plan and book the next step.

Questions
What people ask before they come in.
Something else? Call Rosa on (555) 014-2290, weekdays from 7:30 am.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Usually not. Most plans let you book physical therapy directly; a few ask for a referral, and we'll tell you when we check your coverage. If you've already been referred, bring the note to your first visit.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on what we're working on and what you'd like to get back to, so we'll suggest a plan at the end of your first visit and review it together every few weeks. You're never signed up for more than you agree to.
What should I wear?
Something you can move in. Shorts make it easier to look at knees, hips and ankles; a T-shirt or tank top helps for shoulders and necks. There are changing rooms at both clinics.
Can I see the same therapist every time?
Yes, that's how we work. If your therapist is away, we'll ask before booking you with a colleague, and they'll read your plan before you arrive.
Can someone come with me?
Of course. A family member or friend is welcome in the room, and it often helps them learn the exercises too. Children under 14 come with a parent or guardian.
Why doesn't the request form ask about my health?
Because those conversations belong in a private room, not a web form. The request only asks how to reach you and when suits you; your therapist will ask everything else in person.
