Website design for food trucks

# Food truck website design that *says where you are*

A food truck's website has a job a restaurant's doesn't: telling people where you'll be. We design yours around this week's stops, the menu you're actually serving, and the catering and private events that fill your calendar. It's one $499 fee for the Website launch, paid when you're happy with a free first draft.

- Free first draft
- Fixed price from $499
- Pay only at launch

We usually recommend the [Website launch](https://ciderwebsites.com/restaurants#prices): up to 5 pages, $499 once.

## What a food truck website needs

This week's stops on the first screen, a menu that changes when you do, and catering inquiries that ask about power and parking.

- **Where you are today, and this week** Today's stop and the week's schedule on the first screen: the place by name, the cross street, the service hours and a map link for each. If you already post your stops to a shared calendar or a truck-finder app, the schedule links it, so a change you make from the cab never waits on us.
- **Your regular spots, in words search can read** The brewery you park at on Thursdays, the Saturday farmers market, the office park at lunch: regular stops written as text, so someone looking up that market's vendors, or tacos in that part of town, comes across the truck. You move every day, and your website is the one address of yours that doesn't.
- **A menu that keeps up with the window** The core menu as text with prices, a short *this week* line for specials and rotating items, and an honest note that things sell out. Dietary tags go in exactly as you give them, and when the menu turns with the season it's a quick edit, never a new flyer.
- **Catering and events that arrive ready to quote** A booking inquiry that asks what you'd otherwise have to message back about: the date and service hours, the address and whether it's private property or a public event, the headcount, how guests pay (the host covers it, or guests buy their own) and your minimum. Weddings, office lunches and block parties are often a truck's best days, and they deserve better than a DM.
- **Power, parking and permits, said up front** How much curb or driveway the truck needs, whether you bring a generator or need an outlet, how much notice you need, and who handles the permits an event needs where you work. Saying it on the page keeps you from agreeing to a spot the truck can't fit into.
- **Social and ordering one tap away** Your Instagram or TikTok, where the day's changes go up, linked near the top, and an *Order ahead* button to the pickup ordering you already run. A shorter line at the window means more tickets in the lunch hour.

## Sample sites we've designed

Sample sites for made-up businesses, designed to show what we do: open one on your phone and try it. On your site, booking and payment buttons open the tools you already use.

## The pages a food truck site usually has

- Home with today's stop
- This week's schedule and regular spots
- Menu and specials
- Catering, events and private bookings
- About the truck and contact

### Which plan fits

A truck's site does its work on a handful of pages: where you'll be, the menu, catering and events, your story, and a way to reach you. That's the **Website launch**: up to 5 pages for $499, paid once when you launch.

### What we link

Payments and pickup orders stay on the Square or Toast you already run at the window, your stops stay in the calendar or app you already keep, and the site's buttons and links open them. We take no commission on orders or bookings, and catering inquiries come straight to your inbox.

- Square
- Toast
- Google Calendar
- Instagram
- TikTok

## What to get right

- **A schedule that's weeks out of date** An old stop on the first screen sends someone across town to an empty parking lot, and few people give a truck a second chance after that. If the stops can't be kept current, the page should say *follow us for today's spot* rather than show last month's.
- **Living only on Instagram** Stories vanish after a day, search engines barely see them, and many of the people who'd book a truck for a wedding don't follow food trucks at all. The website holds what doesn't change daily: the menu, the regular spots, catering and how to reach you.
- **An events inquiry with nothing in it** A form that collects only a name and an email turns into three rounds of messages before you know whether the date is free and the event is worth the drive. Asking for the date, headcount, location and how guests pay gets you a request you can quote on the spot.
- **Dietary promises one griddle can't keep** On a truck, most things share one flat-top and one fryer, so *gluten-free* or *nut-free* is hard to promise. We write dietary notes the way you give them, with a line about the shared kitchen, and you approve every page before it goes live.

## How it works

Three steps, and most of the work is ours.

1. 5 minutes **Tell us about your business** The short form, or a chat with the team. Send photos, your logo, your menu: whatever you have.
2. 5 to 7 business days **Get your free first draft** Screenshots for computer and phone and a private preview link (2 to 3 business days with priority, overnight with rush). Ask for changes in plain words until it's right.
3. When you're ready **Approve, pay and launch** Pay the fixed launch fee only when you're happy. With the care plan, we put the site live on your domain and look after it; without it, we hand you the files to host yourself.

## Questions about food truck websites

**How much does a food truck website cost?**

Most trucks choose the Website launch: $499 once for up to 5 pages, paid only after you've seen a free first draft with your own menu and stops on it. The optional care plan, $49 a month, adds hosting, your domain and 4 small edits a month; without it we don't host the site, and you get its files instead. [Every price is here](https://ciderwebsites.com/restaurants#prices).

**How do I keep my schedule up to date without waiting on you?**

Keep posting your stops where you already do. We link the schedule to the shared calendar or truck-finder app you update from your phone, so the site is right the moment you are. If you plan a month at a time, we can write the stops into the page instead, and changes go in as the care plan's 4 small edits a month.

**Can people book my truck for a wedding or a private event on the website?**

They can send a booking request: the inquiry asks for the date, hours, headcount, location and budget, and comes to you. You check the calendar, quote and take a deposit however you do today; we don't add a booking system in between or take a cut.

**Can customers order ahead from the truck's website?**

Yes, through the pickup ordering your point of sale offers, such as Square's or Toast's. We put an Order ahead button on the first screen and beside today's stop, and the tickets arrive at the window the way they do now.

**Will my truck show up when people search for food trucks near me?**

Nobody can promise a place in search results, and a business that moves is harder to place on a map than one that doesn't. What helps is built in: your home city and the neighborhoods you serve in text, regular stops by name, the food in plain words, and pages that load fast on a phone. For ongoing search work, there's SEO & AEO care on the care plan.

**Do I have to write the words myself?**

We write the words for every page, on every launch. You send the menu, your regular stops and a few lines about how the truck started, and the first draft arrives with the words already in place; you change anything that doesn't sound like you.
