Website design for CPA firms

CPA firm website design that earns the first meeting

A CPA firm's website is read by two people: the business owner deciding whether you understand their industry, and the client who needs the portal the week of a deadline. We give each practice and industry you serve its own page, with the portal and secure upload one tap away. That takes the room of the Pro launch, $999, due only after you sign off on a free first draft.

  • Free first draft
  • Fixed price from $499
  • Pay only at launch

We usually recommend the Pro launch: up to 15 pages, $999 once.

What a CPA firm website needs

Tax, audit and advisory on their own pages, the industries you serve, each partner's credentials, and the portal and secure upload in the header.

  • A page for each practice

Individual and business tax, audit and assurance, reviews and compilations, advisory and outsourced accounting, each on its own page that says who it's for and what an engagement covers. Business owners search for the service, not the firm's name.

  • The industries you know best

Construction, nonprofits, dental practices, restaurants, real estate: a page or a section for each industry you serve, about the questions those owners bring you, so a visitor sees their kind of business before they call.

  • Credentials that are exact

Each partner and manager with the credentials they actually hold (CPA and the states they're licensed in, EA, CMA, CFE) and the work they lead. Only licensed people carry CPA after their name, and the firm's name is the one on its permit.

  • The portal and secure upload, one tap away

Client login and Upload documents buttons in the header of every page open TaxDome, SmartVault or Canopy, beside a plain line that returns and statements never go by email. We link your portal; we never build one.

  • Consultations booked, not chased

A Book a consultation button opens your Calendly with the meeting types you offer, and a short inquiry form asks the kind of work and the size of the business, never a Social Security number or account details.

  • A careers page for the people you want

Your culture, your busy-season expectations, support toward licensure and the path to manager or partner, with a link to your job listings. Firms compete for staff as hard as for clients, and candidates read the site first.

Sample sites we've designed

Sample sites for made-up businesses, designed to show what we do: open one on your phone and try it. On your site, booking and payment buttons open the tools you already use.

The pages a CPA firm site usually has

  • Home
  • Tax services for individuals
  • Business tax and accounting
  • Audit and assurance
  • Advisory
  • Industries we serve
  • Our team and credentials
  • Careers
  • Clients: portal, secure upload and tax calendar
  • Contact and consultations

Which plan fits

A firm with tax, audit and advisory practices usually wants a page for each, pages for the industries it knows best, its people and its careers, which is more than a small site holds. That's the Pro launch: up to 15 pages for $999, paid once when you launch.

What we link

Engagement letters, documents, e-signatures and invoices stay in your practice management and portal software, and the site's buttons open them; consultations book through your Calendly. The website never stores a client file or takes a payment itself, and if you change portals we change the link.

  • TaxDome
  • SmartVault
  • Canopy
  • Calendly
  • CPACharge
  • Google Business Profile

What to get right

  • "CPA" where the license doesn't reach

State boards decide which firms may call themselves CPAs, usually those holding a firm permit, and they set the rules for firm names. We use the name on your permit and put CPA only beside people you confirm hold an active license.

  • Claims the AICPA's code calls misleading

Promises of results, hints of influence with the IRS or a court, and a quoted fee you'd likely have to raise are the examples the AICPA's code (1.600) gives of misleading ads. We write what you do and for whom, never "the best CPA in town".

  • Documents invited by email

A Contact us form or a bare email address on the Clients page invites returns and bank statements into an inbox. We send every upload to your portal and keep the forms to names, contact details and what someone needs help with.

  • Industries listed, not explained

A list of every industry under the sun tells an owner nothing. Three or four you know well, each with the questions those clients bring and the work you do for them, show the experience a list only claims.

How it works

Three steps, and most of the work is ours.

  1. 5 minutes

    Tell us about your business

The short form, or a chat with the team. Send photos, your logo, your menu: whatever you have.

  2. 5 to 7 business days

    Get your free first draft

Screenshots for computer and phone and a private preview link (2 to 3 business days with priority, overnight with rush). Ask for changes in plain words until it's right.

  3. When you're ready

    Approve, pay and launch

Pay the fixed launch fee only when you're happy. With the care plan, we put the site live on your domain and look after it; without it, we hand you the files to host yourself.

Questions about CPA firm websites

How much does a CPA firm website cost?

Most CPA firms choose the Pro launch: $999 once for up to 15 pages, enough for each practice, your industries and your team, paid only after you've approved a free first draft. A sole practitioner often fits the Website launch at $499. Hosting, your domain and 4 small edits a month are the optional care plan, $49 a month. See every price.

Can clients reach our portal from the website?

Yes. Client login and Upload documents buttons on every page open TaxDome, SmartVault, Canopy or whichever portal you use, and the portal does the encryption, the storage and the e-signatures. No file ever passes through the site.

How should our credentials appear?

As your state board and the AICPA's code allow: the firm name on your permit, CPA only after licensed people's names, and other credentials, such as EA or CFE, written the way their issuers use them. Give us each person's details and we lay them out for you to check.

Can we have a page for each industry we serve?

Yes, and it's worth it: a page on construction accounting or nonprofit audits answers a different search than a page on tax. On the Pro launch they fit beside your practices and your team; a firm with several offices gets a custom quote.

Who writes the service pages?

We write the words for every page, on every launch. We start from your engagement letters and a short call with a partner, and every page comes back to you for review, so nothing on the site offers a service you don't provide.

Will business owners find us when they search for a CPA nearby?

Pages that say what you do and where, your office details the same everywhere and fast pages on a phone all help, though no one can promise a place in search results. SEO & AEO care, added to the care plan, carries that work on every month.
