Website design for bookkeepers

Bookkeeping website design that books the discovery call

A bookkeeper's website has one job: get a busy owner who's behind on the books to book a call. We lay out packages they can place themselves in, the software you work in and what the first month looks like, with the discovery call a tap away. It all fits the Website launch at $499, and you pay nothing until a free first draft has your OK.

  • Free first draft
  • Fixed price from $499
  • Pay only at launch

We usually recommend the Website launch: up to 5 pages, $499 once.

What a bookkeeping business website needs

Monthly packages owners can place themselves in, QuickBooks or Xero named plainly, onboarding step by step and a discovery call to book.

  • Packages people can place themselves in

Monthly packages laid out the way you price them, by transactions, accounts, payroll runs or hours, with what's in each and what costs extra. If you prefer to quote, we say what drives the price and invite a call.

  • The software you work in, by name

QuickBooks Online, Xero, Gusto, Dext or Hubdoc named plainly, so an owner knows whether you'll work in their file or move them. Partner badges appear only where you hold the program status behind them.

  • Onboarding, step by step

Discovery call, access to the accounts, a catch-up or cleanup if the books are behind, then the monthly close and the reports they'll get. A few plain steps take the dread out of handing over the books.

  • Catch-up and cleanup, explained

Owners who are months behind search for exactly that. A section on catch-up bookkeeping says how you scope it and how you price it, in your own terms, and what they need to send you first.

  • A discovery call booked in a minute

A Book a call button on every page opens your Calendly or your practice software's scheduler, with a few questions that tell you the kind of business, the software and how far behind it is before you talk.

  • Where your work ends

If you don't prepare tax returns or give tax advice, the site says so and names who does, often a CPA you work with, so owners aren't surprised at year end. Clear limits read as expertise.

  • Home
  • Monthly packages and pricing
  • How onboarding works
  • About and the software we use

Which plan fits

Most bookkeepers say it all on a handful of pages: the packages and what they cost, how onboarding works, who you are and the software you use, and a way to book a call. That's the Website launch: up to 5 pages for $499, paid once when you launch.

What we link

The books stay in QuickBooks Online or Xero, payroll in Gusto and receipts in Dext, and the site names the tools you support. Calls book through your Calendly and proposals go out through Ignition or whatever you send them with; the site's buttons open each one, and if you switch tools we change the links.

  • QuickBooks Online
  • Xero
  • Calendly
  • Ignition
  • Gusto
  • Dext

What to get right

  • Titles you don't hold

Bookkeepers aren't CPAs, and state law keeps "CPA" and "certified public accountant" for licensed people and firms. "Certified bookkeeper" belongs on the site only if you hold that certification, named the way its issuer names it.

  • Partner badges without the partnership

QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Xero partner badges belong to people in those programs, shown as each program's rules allow. We add the badges you've earned and leave off the rest.

  • Prices hidden behind a call

An owner comparing three bookkeepers tends to book the one whose page shows what a month costs. If your prices vary, a starting price per package, or the things that move it, is enough.

  • Asking for bank logins on a form

A contact form is no place for bank details, logins or tax ID numbers. Ours asks for a name, contact details and a few questions about the business; access to the accounts comes later, through the software.

How it works

Three steps, and most of the work is ours.

  1. 5 minutes

    Tell us about your business

The short form, or a chat with the team. Send photos, your logo, your menu: whatever you have.

  2. 5 to 7 business days

    Get your free first draft

Screenshots for computer and phone and a private preview link (2 to 3 business days with priority, overnight with rush). Ask for changes in plain words until it's right.

  3. When you're ready

    Approve, pay and launch

Pay the fixed launch fee only when you're happy. With the care plan, we put the site live on your domain and look after it; without it, we hand you the files to host yourself.

Questions about bookkeeping business websites

How much does a bookkeeping website cost?

Most bookkeepers choose the Website launch: $499 once for up to 5 pages, paid only after you've approved a free first draft. Hosting, your domain and 4 small edits a month, such as a new package price, are the optional care plan at $49 a month; without it, the finished site is yours to host. See every price.

Can my package prices be on the site?

Yes, exactly as you set them: per month, by transactions or accounts, with what's included and what costs extra. If you'd rather quote each business, we explain what moves the price and point people to a discovery call.

Can owners book a discovery call online?

Yes. We link your Calendly or your practice software's booking page from every page, with the questions you want answered before the call, so it lands in your calendar like any other meeting.

I only work in Xero. Should the site say so?

Yes. Owners often search for a Xero or QuickBooks bookkeeper by name, and saying which you work in sets expectations before the first call. A section on each tool you support, and on the ones you don't, saves both of you time.

Who writes the pages?

We write the words for every page, on every launch. We start from your packages, your onboarding checklist and a short call, and you approve every page before launch, so the site promises only the work you do.

My clients are all over the country. Does search still matter?

Yes, but it works by what you do and for whom more than by town: a page on bookkeeping for contractors or for restaurants matches what those owners type. No one can promise a position in search results, and SEO & AEO care on the care plan keeps tuning those pages over time.
