Website design for law firms

Law firm and attorney websites that make the first call easy

Someone looking for a lawyer wants to know quickly whether your firm handles their kind of problem, who they'd be working with, and how to ask for a consultation, and a law firm website should answer all three. We build it from practice-area pages and attorney profiles, with the disclaimers your firm approves on the pages you choose, and send a free first draft in 5 to 7 business days; the fixed launch fee, from $499, is paid only when you're ready to launch.

  • Free first draft
  • Fixed price from $499
  • Pay only at launch

We usually recommend the Pro launch: up to 15 pages, $999 once.

What a law firm website needs

Practice areas people recognize their problem in, attorneys by name, and a consultation request that's easy to send.

  • A page for each practice area

Estate planning, family law, personal injury, business formation: each area gets its own page saying who it's for, how a matter usually moves, and what to bring to a first meeting. Specific pages read better for people and give search engines a clear match.

  • Attorney profiles that read like people

A photo, bar admissions, education, the areas each attorney handles and the languages they speak, plus a few sentences in their own voice. Someone hiring a lawyer is choosing a person as much as a firm.

  • A consultation request that asks only what it needs

Name, phone or email, the practice area and a short description, with a clear note not to send confidential details through the form. Requests arrive by email, or the button opens your intake tool's own form instead, so the request is made there.

  • Disclaimers and wording your firm approves

Attorney advertising rules vary by state, so we add the disclaimers, the "attorney advertising" label and any other wording your firm gives us, on the pages you choose. You approve every page before it goes live; what the rules require is your firm's call.

  • How fees work, said plainly

Whether the first consultation is free, whether you work on contingency, a flat fee or by the hour, and how existing clients pay their invoices. Being clear about billing answers the question many people are too uneasy to ask on the phone.

  • Offices, hours and video meetings

The address, parking, building access and hours for each office, a map link, a phone number that dials with one tap, and whether you meet by video for people who can't come in.

Sample sites we've designed

Sites we designed and built for made-up businesses, to show what we do: open one on your phone and try it. On your site, booking, ordering and shop buttons open the tools you already use.

See all the work

The pages a law firm site usually has

  • Home
  • Practice areas (a page for each)
  • Attorneys (a profile for each)
  • About the firm
  • Consultations and fees
  • Resources and common questions
  • Contact and offices

Which plan fits

Larger firms with many practice areas and offices often need the extra room of the Signature launch, but most firms need a page for each practice area and each attorney, and that adds up fast. That's the Pro launch: up to 15 pages for $999, paid once when you launch.

What we connect

Intake, scheduling and billing stay in the tools your firm already uses: the site's buttons open Clio Grow, Lawmatics, Calendly or similar for consultations and the payment page existing clients use (such as LawPay), and link your reviews. Matter details and documents stay in those systems; the website points people to them.

Common mistakes, and how we avoid them

  • One long list of practice areas

Twenty areas in a single paragraph tells nobody whether you handle their problem. A page for each main area, with real detail about the process, does far more than a long list.

  • Outcome claims and superlatives

Verdict figures, "the best" and "aggressive" language can run into your state's advertising rules and promise what no lawyer controls. We write in plain, factual terms and include only wording your firm has approved.

  • A form that invites confidential details

An open "tell us everything" box collects long, sensitive messages before you've run a conflict check. A short form with a clear note keeps first contact simple and leaves the details for the consultation.

  • Gavels, scales and courthouse stock photos

They look like every other firm and say nothing about yours. Real photos of your attorneys and your office, even simple ones, help people picture walking in for the first meeting.

How it works

Three steps, and most of the work is ours.

  1. 5 minutes

    Tell us about your business

The short form, or a chat with the team. Send photos, your logo, your menu: whatever you have.

  2. 5 to 7 business days

    Get your free first draft

Screenshots for computer and phone and a private preview link (2 to 3 business days with priority, overnight with rush). Ask for changes in plain words until it's right.

  3. When you're ready

    Approve, pay and launch

Pay the fixed launch fee only when you're happy. With the care plan, we put the site live on your domain and look after it; without it, we hand you the files to host yourself.

Questions law firm owners ask

How much does a law firm website cost?

Firms with several practice areas and attorneys usually choose the Pro launch: $999 once for up to 15 pages, enough for a page per practice area and per attorney, paid only once you've approved a free first draft. Hosting sits outside that fee, in the optional care plan ($49 a month or $490 a year) along with your domain and small edits such as a new attorney's profile. See every price, ask for a custom quote for a large firm, or read what a small business website costs elsewhere.

Can people book a consultation on our website?

Yes. The consultation button can open your scheduling or intake tool's own booking page or form, such as Calendly, Clio Grow or Lawmatics, or send a short request to your inbox that asks only for contact details, the practice area and a brief description.

Will our website follow attorney advertising rules?

We add the disclaimers and wording your firm gives us, exactly where you want them, and you approve every page before launch. The rules vary by state and your firm knows its own obligations, so you decide what's needed; we don't give legal advice on it.

Can each attorney have their own page?

Yes, and we recommend it. Each profile has a photo, bar admissions, education, practice areas and a short bio, and the practice-area pages link to the attorneys who handle that work.

Should a law firm website have a blog?

Only if someone will keep it current. A handful of useful articles answering common questions in your practice areas can help people and search engines understand what you do, and the fresh content add-on can write them from a short note or call.

Will our firm show up in search and in chat-style answers?

A clear page for each practice area and plain answers to common questions give search engines and chat-style search tools what they need to understand the firm. For ongoing tuning, add SEO & AEO care; nobody can honestly promise rankings.
