Website design for cafés and coffee shops

Café and coffee shop websites, designed and built for you

Most people open a café or coffee shop website to check three things fast: what's on the menu, whether you're open right now, and how to order ahead and skip the line. We do the design and the building and send a free first draft in 5 to 7 business days. Nothing is due until you choose to launch, and then it's one fixed fee from $499.

  • Free first draft
  • Fixed price from $499
  • Pay only at launch

We usually recommend the Website launch: up to 5 pages, $499 once.

What a café website needs

The menu as real text, hours that are always right, and order-ahead and beans right at the top.

  • The menu as text, not a photo of the board

Espresso drinks, tea, food, milk options and prices on a real page that loads quickly on a phone signal. When the seasonal drink or the pastry case changes, it's a quick edit, and search engines can read every item.

  • Order ahead from the first screen

A clear Order ahead button on the first screen and in a sticky bar on phones. It opens your own ordering page, so the ticket prints on the same tablet behind the bar that your walk-in orders do.

  • Hours, including the odd ones

Weekday and weekend hours, early closes, holiday changes and when the kitchen stops serving food, written as text on every page. Nobody should have to call to find out whether you're open at 3 p.m. on a Sunday.

  • Beans and retail between visits

The roast of the week with its origin, process and tasting notes, bag sizes and grind options, and a button to wherever you already sell beans or subscriptions. The website keeps selling coffee on the days people brew at home.

  • Work-friendly details, said plainly

Wi-Fi, outlets, laptop hours, seating and whether you take calls inside. People who work remotely search for exactly this, and answering it online saves your baristas the same question at the counter.

  • The room and the people behind the bar

Photos of the space, the bar and the team, with the story of the place and where your coffee comes from. A café is chosen for how it feels as much as for what's in the cup.

  • Found by people on the next block

Your name, address and phone written the same everywhere, page titles that name your neighborhood, and a home page light enough to load for someone deciding on the sidewalk.

Sample sites we've designed

Sites we designed and built for made-up businesses, to show what we do: open one on your phone and try it. On your site, booking, ordering and shop buttons open the tools you already use.

See all the work

The pages a café site usually has

  • Home
  • Menu (coffee, tea, food and seasonal drinks)
  • Beans, subscriptions and wholesale
  • About the café, the team and sourcing
  • Visit us: hours, location and Wi-Fi

Which plan fits

Most cafés fit on a handful of pages: home, the menu, beans with subscriptions and wholesale, your story, and a visit page with hours and Wi-Fi. That's the Website launch: up to 5 pages for $499, paid once when you launch.

What we connect

Your order-ahead and point of sale (Square, Toast, Clover or similar) keep running the counter, and the site's buttons open them, along with your loyalty program, gift cards, bean subscriptions and reviews. We take no commission on your orders, and if you switch providers we update the link.

Common mistakes, and how we avoid them

  • A photo of the chalkboard as the menu

It's hard to read on a phone, invisible to search, and wrong the day oat milk changes price. A text menu stays readable, searchable and easy to change.

  • Order-ahead buried in the footer

If someone has to hunt for the ordering link, they'll walk in and wait in line, or go to the café whose button they found first. It belongs at the top of the page.

  • Hours that disagree with Google

Many people check your Google listing first and your website second. When the two say different things, they don't know which to trust, and someone eventually arrives at a locked door.

  • Slow video of latte art on the home page

It's lovely, and it loads slowly for the person standing outside on a weak signal. A good still photo and a fast page do more during the morning rush.

How it works

Three steps, and most of the work is ours.

  1. 5 minutes

    Tell us about your business

The short form, or a chat with the team. Send photos, your logo, your menu: whatever you have.

  2. 5 to 7 business days

    Get your free first draft

Screenshots for computer and phone and a private preview link (2 to 3 business days with priority, overnight with rush). Ask for changes in plain words until it's right.

  3. When you're ready

    Approve, pay and launch

Pay the fixed launch fee only when you're happy. With the care plan, we put the site live on your domain and look after it; without it, we hand you the files to host yourself.

Questions café owners ask

How much does a coffee shop website cost?

Most cafés choose the Website launch: $499 once for up to 5 pages, and nothing at all until you've seen the free draft with your own menu on it and want to go live. The launch fee doesn't cover hosting: that's the optional care plan, $49 a month or $490 a year, which also registers and renews your domain. A roaster with wholesale, subscriptions and several locations may suit the Pro launch. All our prices are public, and our guide explains what a small business website costs in general.

Can customers order ahead from my café website?

Yes, through the ordering system you already use. We put an Order ahead button where people look for it and link it to your Square, Toast or other ordering page, so orders reach the bar exactly as they do now.

Do I need a website if my coffee shop is on Instagram?

In most cases, yes. Instagram shows the mood, but it's slow at answering hours, menu and directions, and plenty of people search before they visit without ever opening the app. Our guide do I need a website goes through it.

Can I sell coffee beans or subscriptions on my website?

Yes, by linking the shop or subscription service you already use, such as a Shopify shop or your point of sale's online ordering. We design the beans page, the roast notes and the buttons; payments stay with the provider you chose.

How do I keep the menu and seasonal drinks up to date?

Send us the change in plain words and we make it. The care plan includes 4 small edits a month, which covers most seasonal menu swaps and holiday hours.

Will my café show up when people search for coffee nearby?

The basics are built in: page titles that say coffee shop and name your neighborhood, your address and hours written so search engines can read them, and pages that load quickly on phones. Local results also lean on your Google listing, which Google Business Profile upkeep can keep current, and SEO & AEO care handles the ongoing search work.
