Website design for bakeries

Bakery website design, from today's bakes to custom cakes

Bakeries sell out, take pre-orders and make custom cakes, and the website has to keep up with all three: what's baking today, the pre-order cutoff, and cake inquiries that arrive as clear requests with a date, servings and flavors. You tell us about the bakery in a short brief, we design and build the site, and a free first draft arrives in 5 to 7 business days; the fixed launch fee, from $499, is due only once you're happy.

  • Free first draft
  • Fixed price from $499
  • Pay only at launch

We usually recommend the Website launch: up to 5 pages, $499 once.

What a bakery website needs

Today's bakes up front, pre-orders before the cutoff, and cake inquiries that arrive complete.

  • Today's bakes, and what sells out

A short baking today section near the top for the daily breads, pastries and specials, with an honest line about what tends to go early. Regulars who know the croissants are gone by ten will come at nine instead of leaving disappointed.

  • Pre-orders with a clear cutoff

Holiday pies, weekend loaves and pastry boxes all have a deadline. We put the order-by time and the pickup windows right beside the order button, and link that button to the tool you already take pre-orders with.

  • Custom cake inquiries that arrive complete

A short inquiry that asks what you'd otherwise chase by email: the date, how many servings, flavors and fillings, the look they have in mind, any allergies, and pickup or delivery. You can reply with a quote instead of a list of questions.

  • Allergen and ingredient notes

Gluten, nuts, dairy, eggs and sesame marked item by item, plus a plain sentence about shared equipment and what you can and can't promise. Parents and people with allergies look for this before they make the trip.

  • A menu that's a real page

Breads, viennoiserie, cakes, cookies and drinks with prices, readable on a phone and by search engines. When the seasonal galette changes, it's a small edit rather than a new PDF to design and upload.

  • Wholesale and catering inquiries

A page for cafés, restaurants and offices that want a standing bread order or a platter for a meeting, with your minimums, lead times and delivery days. It's steady work that many bakery sites never ask for.

  • Hours that match the oven

Early opening, early closing, the days you're shut and holiday hours, written as text on every page, with the address, parking notes and a map link close by.

Sample sites we've designed

Sites we designed and built for made-up businesses, to show what we do: open one on your phone and try it. On your site, booking, ordering and shop buttons open the tools you already use.

See all the work

The pages a bakery site usually has

  • Home with today's bakes
  • Menu (breads, pastries, cakes and drinks)
  • Custom cakes and pre-orders
  • Wholesale and catering
  • About the bakers, hours and location

Which plan fits

A bakery site usually comes down to a few pages: home with today's bakes, the menu, cakes and pre-orders, wholesale and catering, and one page about the bakers with your hours and address. That's the Website launch: up to 5 pages for $499, paid once when you launch.

What we connect

Pre-orders and payments stay in the tool you already take them with (Square, Toast, Shopify or similar), and the site's order buttons open it; gift cards, local delivery partners and your reviews are linked the same way. We take no commission on your orders, and cake inquiries come straight to you rather than through a middleman.

Common mistakes, and how we avoid them

  • No word on selling out

Someone who drives over at two in the afternoon and finds empty shelves may not try again. A line saying what sells out early, and roughly when, sends them back at the right time instead.

  • Cake orders by phone only

A phone number on its own means calls during the morning rush and details written on scraps of paper. An inquiry that asks for the date and servings gets everything down the first time.

  • Pre-order deadlines missing or buried

If the holiday order-by date isn't next to the button, you'll get late requests you have to turn down, and regulars who feel let down by their own bakery.

  • Allergy information left off

Leaving it out doesn't stop the question; it just moves it to the counter and the phone, or sends a careful customer to a bakery that answers it clearly online.

How it works

Three steps, and most of the work is ours.

  1. 5 minutes

    Tell us about your business

The short form, or a chat with the team. Send photos, your logo, your menu: whatever you have.

  2. 5 to 7 business days

    Get your free first draft

Screenshots for computer and phone and a private preview link (2 to 3 business days with priority, overnight with rush). Ask for changes in plain words until it's right.

  3. When you're ready

    Approve, pay and launch

Pay the fixed launch fee only when you're happy. With the care plan, we put the site live on your domain and look after it; without it, we hand you the files to host yourself.

Questions bakery owners ask

How much does a bakery website cost?

Most bakeries choose the Website launch: $499 once for up to 5 pages, fixed in advance and paid when you're ready to launch. Hosting is separate, in the optional care plan ($49 a month), which also covers your domain and small edits like holiday hours and order deadlines. A bakery with several shops or a large wholesale side may want the Pro launch. Every price is on our pricing page, and our guide compares what a small business website costs elsewhere.

Can customers pre-order on my bakery website?

Yes: the order button links to the pre-order tool you already take orders with. We put that button, the cutoff times and the pickup windows together on the page, and orders keep arriving wherever they arrive today.

Can people request a custom cake online?

Yes. We add a cake inquiry with the questions you need answered (date, servings, flavors, design, allergies and pickup or delivery), so the first message has enough in it to quote from.

Do I still need a website if I post my bakes on Instagram every day?

Usually, yes. Your posts show today's bakes beautifully, but people searching for a bakery near them or a birthday cake tend to land on websites and Google listings first, and details like hours, allergens and order deadlines get lost in a feed. More in our guide do I need a website.

How do I keep today's bakes and holiday hours current?

Seasonal menus, holiday hours and order deadlines are small edits: send them in plain words, and the care plan covers 4 of them a month. For bakes that change every day, we can point that section to the ordering page or social feed you already update, so it never waits on us.

Can my bakery website take wholesale orders?

It can take wholesale inquiries: a page with your minimums, lead times and delivery days, and a short form that comes to you. Standing orders then run however you manage them now, or through an ordering tool we link.
